About Claire

Claire was born in Oxford and showed talent in languages from a very early age, picking up French from family holidays. She went on to study French and Spanish at the University of Bath and fell in love with Andalucia during her year abroad in Cordoba.
After graduation, a TEFL qualification, and later a Diploma in Translation from the Chartered Institute of Linguists, she returned to Spain where she spent many happy years working in the hotel industry, translating, interpreting and teaching both English and Spanish, in between bringing up two children and helping her partner run a hot-air balloon business.
In 2006 the family moved to Italy, where she spent six years teaching English in a primary school and in her own studio. After mastering the Italian language, she translated into English for a number of clients including the prestigious Slow Food organisation.
On her return to the UK, Claire completed a PGCE teaching qualification at Bath Spa University whilst continuing to do what she loves best, tutoring students in Spanish, Italian and French and translating documents from a wide variety of topics. Having two teenage children herself, Claire has had particular success in tutoring students sitting GCSE and A level examinations.
In her spare time she loves to go walking in the beautiful Wiltshire countryside close to Devizes where she lives.
